About Us

Meet Shiru Ochieng, Founder of Gut Feast Kenya

You may know Gut Feast Kenya as Dr Kombucha, the name behind our social media presence and our line of kombucha. But our brand is bigger than kombucha, covering a growing range of premium gut health products.

Our founder, Shiru Ochieng, grew Gut Feast Kenya out of a personal quest for a healthier gut. For years, she approached it reactively, turning to conventional medicine when problems arose, but she wasn’t finding the lasting results she hoped for. Eventually, she began to wonder whether there was another way: instead of only responding when something went wrong, what if she focused on caring for her gut proactively?

That shift in perspective changed the way she thought about digestive health. It also raised a question: If taking better care of her gut could make such a difference to how she felt, how many other people were looking for better ways to care for theirs?

Your Gut Deserves Better

We think of the gut as your body's motherboard. Just like a computer’s motherboard links all of its hardware to keep the system running, we view the gut as a central part of the body’s functioning. That's why we believe gut support deserves more attention as part of everyday well-being. We want to help more Kenyans understand their gut and make informed, gut-friendly choices as part of everyday life.

Our Mission

We make gut health easier to understand and fermented foods easier to enjoy. By creating quality ferments and sharing practical insights, we hope to help more Kenyans make better decisions about what they put on their plates.
